Natural Products Expo East 2023 Recap
The sun has set on Informa Markets’ Natural Products Expo East, a multi-day event where the natural products industry convenes to explore, learn, and drive industry progression. Informa Markets announced on September 20 that this year’s event would also be its last.
Informa will debut a new event called “Newtopia Now” August 6-8, 2024, in Savannah, GA noting that the event “is designed to provide more opportunities for brands to meaningfully participate, regardless of where they are in their lifecycle.”
Natural Products Expo West will continue to be held annually on the West Coast, with the next event taking place March 12-16, 2024 in Anaheim, CA.
The Natural Products Expo brings together companies of all sizes to showcase their products, foster connections, and uncover fresh insights within the realm of natural products.
The final Expo East show took place September 20-23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA showcasing the newest natural and organic products in foods, beverages, beauty, lifestyle, supplements, and ingredients.
Jay Shetty, the mindfulness coach, health podcaster, entrepreneur, and best-selling author gave an inspiring keynote, “Innovating with Purpose: A Conversation with Jay Shetty,” encouraging and cautioning the audience to stay humble and curious as our businesses grow and evolve.
Shetty used the example of Blockbuster. The once-omnipresent, now-defunct video rental chain passed up numerous chances to purchase Netflix, feeling it wouldn’t be worth it.
“What in your organization are you thinking, ‘Oh, that not going to take off; that’s 20 years off,’” Shetty said. “What are you ignoring that could be the very thing the entire industry is based off?” Answering these questions honestly, he added, takes childlike curiosity and humility.
Paramount Global was in good company with over 800 exhibitors contributing offerings to the Natural Products market. The show floor was inundated with companies seeking sustainable packaging solutions and we had some illuminating discussions diving into what sustainability means since it’s different for everyone. It was great to see so many companies inquiring about sustainable packaging with strong commitments to working toward solutions.
It was Paramount’s first time exhibiting at Expo East and it was a beneficial opportunity to meet new potential partners and reconnect with existing ones. The show was smaller than Expo West which we regularly attend, allowing for more time and space for in-depth conversations. We returned from the show feeling inspired by all the innovations in sustainability and look forward to growing our partnerships and working toward a more sustainable future.
